WHAT YOU NEED
Six things, then you are live.
Everything happens in the Tarea Pro app or on this site. Most Pros finish the set-up in one sitting; the background check usually clears within a few days.
Licensed tradesElectrical, plumbing and HVAC work needs a state licence in Texas, and larger jobs need a CSLB licence in California. Upload yours and Tarea checks it against the state register. Those jobs are sent only to licensed Pros.

Who pays Tarea?
The customer. Tarea adds its service fee on top of your rate when the customer books, and you are paid the full rate you set for the labour. Materials you buy for a job are reimbursed at cost with nothing taken off.
Do I set my own prices?
Yes. You set an hourly rate per trade, and you can change it whenever you like. Tarea never sets, caps or suggests your rate. When a customer asks for a price, they see an estimate built from the time our AI expects the job to take and your rate, and you can adjust the scope and quote materials before anything is charged.
Am I an employee?
No. Tarea Pros are independent contractors. You choose which jobs to accept, when you work, where you work and what you charge. There is no exclusivity, so you can keep every other client and platform you already have.
Where is Tarea available?
We are onboarding Pros across California and Texas, with a focus on the Los Angeles area and Dallas–Fort Worth right now. If you work elsewhere in those states you can still sign up; you will receive requests as customers in your area start booking.
How and when do I get paid?
Through Stripe, straight to your bank account. Payouts are released after the job is complete and the customer's payment has cleared, usually within about two business days. An instant cash-out option is available for a small fee once you have a track record on Tarea.
I am a licensed plumber, electrician or HVAC tech. Does that matter?
Yes, in your favour. Upload your licence and Tarea verifies it against the state register. Jobs that legally require a licence are only sent to licensed Pros, so you compete with fewer people for that work, and your profile carries a licensed badge customers can see.
What does the $29.99 background check cover?
A standard identity and criminal-record screening run by a third-party provider. It is required before you can receive requests. You can pay it when you sign up or have it taken out of your first payout.
